Shouhou Thing

After a peaceful walkabout the Tanabata festival, winning several armfuls of plush toys, and buying more than enough sweets and treats to send any child into a sugar coma, the Admiral and Shouhou settle down for a simple, rather bare-bones dinner prepared by her own commander on the beach. The meal itself consists of nothing more than two servings of flame-grilled Golden Eye Snapper , along with two sides of fried vegetables. The gleaming crown of this simplistic supper was an obviously exorbitantly expensive bottle of wine, Pinot Noir to be exact, obviously meant to be a complement the fish, although it probably surpassed the taste of the entree.

The fair lady sat herself down upon the blanket they had set up and hinged her body sideways so that she wouldn't have to cross her legs together and take up most of the space. She stared off into the distance for a bit. The sight was something unique, atleast in her experience - the sea sky unobscured by various puffs of smoke, shells flying across or striker aircraft doing their rounds. You could say, it was rather peaceful.

However, she did not take long to snap her attention back to the meal he had prepared. Even if she was not truly driven by hunger at the moment, she definitely wouldn't deny treating herself to a tasty meal to top the night off. Especially when the accompanying drink went oh-so well with the main course.
"You have certainly given it your all, hmm? It's humble, but it has everything and that's all we need right now - a fine way to conclude this wonderful day." Shouhou tilted her head and smiled brightly. The atmosphere was just right, she felt.

Her partner seemed to have no such time for simple pleasures such as taking in the scenery, as he was much more intent on setting up their dinner. Once she had finished scanning the horizon, he had already portioned out their entire meal, a glass of wine sitting beside each plate, filled to nearly the exact same level. In response to her questioning, he only smiled abashedly and nodded before speaking, "I'm not all that great at cooking, so... I got some help." He admitted, obviously prepared to deal a blow to his own ego. In truth, none of the fleet had helped him prepare. He had actually called his own mother, although he'd never admit that to his beloved until several weeks after their tryst.

 He paused for only a few moments, staring at what seemed to be something behind her, although his eyes were focused intensely onto her nose. He was doing what he had done many times before: regretting not bringing a camera. In place of this repeated mistake he had built up a mental catalog of her various adorable expressions, this one of simultaneous bliss and underlying excitement being a new one to him. He snaps back to reality rather quickly, taking both glasses in either hand, reaching out to offer one to her with a slight grin, "To our future together." He toasts rather simply, waiting patiently for her to bring the lip of the wine glass to her lips before he would do the same.
